Vineyards
Montpellier sits at the heart of France’s Languedoc wine-producing region, one of the oldest and most diverse wine areas in the country.
The region is best known for Picpoul de Pinet, its crisp and refreshing white wine, and Pic Saint-Loup, widely regarded as the most celebrated red produced in the hills just north of Montpellier.
A visit to one (or multiple!) vineyards is definitely recommended.
Due to the busy time of year, you'll definitely have to book in advance.

If you have a spare day and a car, these are further out but are worth it!
Oyster Farms
Montpellier is just 20 minutes from the Étang de Thau lagoon, renowned for its exceptional Bouzigues oysters. Farmed in the calm, tideless waters of the lagoon and benefiting from the mild Mediterranean climate, these oysters are celebrated for their freshness and delicate flavour.
We highly recommend taking a trip down the coast to visit one of the oyster farms, or sit by the water’s edge enjoying freshly shucked oysters with a chilled glass of Picpoul.
Our tried-and-tested favourites are listed below.
